Jose Espinoza Carhuajulca owns 2ha of land in Alto Pirias, Chirinos. The farm is planted with caturra, castillo and catuai and sits at an altitude of 1800masl.
Jose has only started producing natural coffees in 2020 and changed from washed processing due to the increased cup quality potential that natural processing offers with the varieties he grows. Jose and his family pick the coffee with the help of seasonal workers. Once picked coffee is placed on raised beds to dry for 25 to 35 days, depending on the weather conditions.
